AFFORDABLE BIOENGINEERING, MICROSCOPY, AND MICRO-TESTING SYSTEMS
We have developed novel automated microscopy and micro-testing systems for research, medical/pathology, veterinary, and other applications such as tele-medicine and training systems. Our new MezoScope V.3 system is fully X-Y-Z automated with magnifications from 2-2000x. It is very fast, achieving large scale mosaic imaging of whole slides in under 5 minutes (often much faster). Our system is flexible since it is based upon standard upright microscope design. Thus, the user can immediately switch between fully automatic and fully manual control. The supplied software GUI allows easy control of specimen position, rapid mosaic acquisition, automatic focus options, and 3-D stack imaging. Because we programmed the system here in house, custom imaging applications can be made such as for machine-vision, statistical imaging control, and feature identification/tracking.
Custom gantry, specimen holders, and micro-testing system designs can be rapidly produced using our 3-D printing technologies.
The MezoScope V.3 base system is less than 1/4 the cost of competing automated microscopy systems. We achieve this by using newly available custom micro-stepping controllers, novel gantry design, and USB3.0 connections.
